On June 15, the Music & Ideology Lecture “Building Dreams Together, Vocational Education Takes the Lead” was delivered during the 9th China Vocational Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. All university leaders attended the activity.
Centered on four epochal questions, the art-integrated ideological presentation fully demonstrated the mission, responsibility and educational achievements of vocational education in the new era.
The first question looked back at the original aspiration of vocational education amid national peril, featuring the situational chorus “Pursuit”. The stage unfolded as a scroll of century-long history, depicting the persistent pursuit of industrial salvation and national rejuvenation by laborers and early vocational educators in old China.
The second question centered on people’s aspirations for development. The musical drama “Light Up Distant Mountains” themed on volunteer teaching and ethnic gesture dance “Jiliang” were staged in succession. The performances vividly reproduced the youth practice of our university students volunteering to teach in ethnic mountainous areas of Sichuan, Qinghai, Yunnan and other regions, recreating the united scene of people of all ethnic groups lifting themselves out of poverty and striving for a moderately prosperous society side by side.
The third question examined the landscape of vocational education amid global changes. The group dance “Splendid Brocade” interpreted craftsmanship through Changzhou’s intangible cultural heritage random stitch embroidery. The duet Echoes of the Silk Road blended piano, violin, percussion and erhu to perform the classic “Butterfly Lovers”, building a bridge for dialogue between Chinese and foreign civilizations through music.
The fourth question focused on young people’s personal growth and career development. The situational recitation Inheritance of Craftsman Spirit poignantly told the inspiring story of Deng Jianjun, an outstanding alumnus of our university, who broke foreign technological blockades, conducted independent scientific research and scaled new heights in industrial development. The entire presentation concluded with all participants singing Ode to the Motherland in unison, bringing the passion for the motherland and aspirations for vocational education to a climax.
Closely aligned with the developmental context of Chinese vocational education and the general trend of building a great modern socialist country, the lecture sorted out the responsibilities and missions of vocational educators in different historical stages through progressive epochal inquiries. Breaking the traditional didactic teaching model, it realized in-depth integration of ideological connotations and artistic expression, embedding values including the craftsman spirit, self-reliance and national sentiment into an immersive stage experience.
CIIT has developed the featured educational brand of Music & Ideology Lectures for four consecutive years. Moving forward, the institution will further explore the innovative educational model of immersive ideological courses, tap educational resources in depth, and foster high-caliber technical and skilled talents with both sound morality and proficient expertise.
Teachers and students participating in the China Vocational Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, as well as student representatives of our university, watched the lecture.
