Upon the arrival of the 2025 Spring Festival, marking the Year of the Snake, Vice President Tan Zhuping gathered with international students remaining on campus to celebrate this significant traditional festival. The event not only commemorated the first Spring Festival since UNESCO recognized Spring Festival customs as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity but also underscored CIIT's commitment to fostering a welcoming environment for international students.

In his address, Vice President Tan highlighted that the Spring Festival is more than just a time for family reunions and bidding farewell to the old while welcoming the new; it is a crucial moment for cultural exchange between China and the world. He encouraged international students to seize learning opportunities, enhance their language skills and professional knowledge, actively engage in cultural exchange activities, and serve as bridges of friendship between China and their home countries.

Simultaneously, the Writing Spring Couplets, Inscribing Fu Characters, and Welcoming the New Year cultural experience event, organized by SOE, provided an immersive platform for international students to delve into Chinese culture. Over 50 students from countries such as Russia, Tajikistan, Myanmar, and others participated in writing spring couplets, paper-cutting, and clay modeling, experiencing the unique charm of calligraphy and traditional Chinese crafts. The atmosphere was lively as students proudly displayed their hand-made works on their dormitory doors, partaking in the traditional Chinese custom of decorating homes for the New Year.

Dean Fei Jianming conveyed heartfelt wishes to all international students during the event, expressing hope that such activities would deepen their understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture. He emphasized CIITs dedication to continually optimizing its curriculum design and launching diverse cultural events to help international students better perceive and appreciate China, thereby contributing to the spread of Chinese culture globally.

This Lunar New Year celebration was not merely a festive gathering but also a profound cultural exchange, promoting the integration and development of multiculturalism. The university remains committed to offering rich cultural experiences, ensuring that international students' lives and studies in China are filled with warmth and enrichment, ultimately turning them into ambassadors of Chinese culture.

Jiang Xiaodan, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Department of Basic Teaching and Physical Education, Dean Fei Jianming, and Vice Dean Zhou Juan of SOE attended the event, sharing an unforgettable and joyous moment with the international students.
