In order to enrich the campus cultural life and let students feel the charm of cross talk without leaving the campus, on May 10th, a cross talk performance hosted by the College Student Art Troupe under the leadership of the Youth League Committee of Changzhou Vocational Institute of Industry Technology (CIIT) and undertaken by the Youth League Committee of the School of Art and Creativity of CIIT was held in the lecture hall in the Tuwen Building. The performers were from Changzhou Changxiaolinyu Crosstalk Club and Yide Club of School of Art and Creativity. Xiang Zhuangqing, an alumnus, who graduated from CIIT 3 years ago, also participated in the performance.
Known as the king of Chinese folk art form with the most obvious humorous characteristics and comedy style to realize the artistic appreciation of beauty, the cross talk is required to make the audience laugh. The language materials that make the audience laugh are called the “cloth-wrappers” of those performers. The performers expose them or show the laughing points both unexpectedly and certainly so that the audience will feel it is out of expect but think it is reasonable after thinking twice.
Because of the attractive art performance, the lecture hall with a capacity of more than 1,000 people was full. The whole show lasted nearly 2 hours. With performers cracking jokes and playing the fool, the audience couldn’t help bursting into laughter. They were pleased by all kinds of wisdom and thinking ways as well as the figures of speech, and enlightened by the vicissitudes of life conveyed in the humor.
