Recently, Xi Haitao, Secretary of the Party Committee of Changzhou Vocational Institute of Industry Technology (CIIT), visited the One-Stop Student Community to cordially convey greetings to representatives of teachers from the School of Overseas Education and international students from various countries who stayed on campus during the winter vacation, extending his best wishes and sincere greetings for the Spring Festival to them. Department heads from the School of Overseas Education and the School of General Education and Physical Education accompanied him during the visit.
During the visit, Xi Haitao introduced the traditional customs and profound cultural connotations of the Chinese Spring Festival to the international students. He encouraged the students staying on campus to actively understand Chinese traditional customs and personally experience the charm of Chinese culture while learning professional knowledge and skills, so as to better understand the differences between Chinese and foreign cultures and become bridges and envoys for promoting cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
Xi Haitao pointed out that CIIT's key strategic layout in the new energy field and its in-depth cooperation with well-known enterprises such as Li Auto and BYD Auto have established a talent training model for high-skilled engineers, which has laid a solid foundation for transporting high-quality technical talents to the home countries of international students.
He put forward earnest expectations for the international students, hoping that they would learn Chinese well, pay more attention to cutting-edge technologies such as new energy and artificial intelligence during their stay in China, continuously improve their competitiveness in light of the industrial development needs of their home countries, and become technical and skilled talents connecting China and foreign countries in the future.
In view of the current low temperature in winter, Xi Haitao specially emphasized that the School of Overseas Education should effectively ensure cold protection and warmth preservation in the study places for international students and create a comfortable learning environment for them. At the same time, the school should strictly implement the student leave application and cancellation system, strengthen safety management, and ensure that the international students on campus spend a safe and peaceful Spring Festival holiday.
