The 2024 World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference, held from November 20-22 at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Tianjin, welcomed CIIT for the first time. The conference, hosted by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the National Commission for UNESCO of China, and the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, brought together leaders and experts from the global vocational education community.
President Yang Jinsong of CIIT attended the opening ceremony and was interviewed by CCTV, marking the institute's debut at this prestigious event. CIIT's participation included a thematic exhibition and a presentation at the Students' Skill Show Performance.
CIIT's exhibition, themed "Accurately Docking Industrial Demand, Innovation and Service of New Quality Productivity: Assisting Urban Butterfly Change and Industrial Upgrade", featured five sections: Effectiveness of High-Quality Development, Typical Products Solving the 'Necklace' Problem, Innovative Research by Doctors and Teachers, Teachers and Students Innovation Team R&D Products, and Serving City Industry Development.
During the exhibition, CIIT received visits from prominent figures including Lu Xin, President of China Society for Vocational and Technical Education; Cao Yumei, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education; and Ma Wanquan, Director of the Vocational Education Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. These visits fostered discussions on industry-education integration, college-enterprise cooperation, talent cultivation, scientific and technological innovation, and the development of high-level talent teams.
Ma Yandong, Vice President of Hengli Hydraulic and an alumnus of CIIT, shared his growth experience, highlighting the effectiveness of vocational education in talent training. Additionally, Yu Yongjie, a young doctoral teacher at CIIT, presented the latest scientific research results published in the international top journal Nature.
CIIT's case study, "Concentrate on the Integrated Development of Industry-Education-City and Create a New Energy Industry-Education Alliance 'Changzhou Model'", was selected for inclusion in the conference journal. This case study demonstrates CIIT's innovative approach to education-industry collaboration, serving the construction and development of a new energy city and enhancing the synergy between industry and education.
The Jintan Paper Carving Intangible Cultural Heritage Club, led by teacher Li Bin, participated in the Students' Skill Show Performance. Li Bin and his team showcased a series of works titled "Joy" and "Happiness", celebrating the beauty of rural life and preserving traditional Chinese craftsmanship.
CIIT's participation in the conference underscores its commitment to aligning with new energy and intelligent manufacturing industry clusters. CIIT aims to enhance its ability to serve industry, optimize educational models, and create a new path of multi-party synergy and win-win development, fostering collaborative college-industry relationships and promoting the integrated development of professional and industrial clusters.
