On the afternoon of March 6th, quite a few international students were seen in a costume culture display jointly organized by CIIT's English Salon Association and Baidu Baike Club.
The communication was more than a monotonous lecture. There was a feline grace about the way participants moved in various traditional and modern costumes, who also presented the cultural connotations of their respective costumes on site. The Show Time was followed by a tense and challenging Quiz Game, in which the host bombarded them with questions concerning the origin, historical evolution, and production techniques of dress and personal adornment, enjoying receiving active and quick response from the audience armed with relevant knowledge.
With the help of clothing as a straightforward cultural carrier, this activity showcased the characteristics of garments from different countries and periods, enhancing students' awareness and understanding of multiculturalism.
