January 20 saw the birth of a National New Energy Industry-Education Alliance headquartered in Changzhou. Xi Haitao, Secretary of CIIT Committee of the CPC, attended the launch ceremony and President Yang Jingsong accepted an interview with the media.
The Changzhou New Energy Industry Education Alliance, one of the first 28 national level industry-education consortia, has been established jointly by universities, vocational colleges, secondary vocational schools, government departments, enterprises, scientific research institutions, and other social organizations relying on the Wujin National High tech Industrial Development Zone, and initiated mainly by Changzhou Vocational Institute of Industry Technology and Wanbang Digital Energy Co., Ltd.. At present, there are a total of 181 member units. The coalition will focus on building a strong industrial chain, gathering supply chains, strengthening talent chains, and optimizing mechanism chains, striving to provide replicable, promotable, and referenceable Changzhou experience for the construction of the national modern vocational education system.
Yang Jingsong said in a media interview that CIIT, which is famous for characteristic development and profound education and teaching reform, has been optimizing majors combination featuring a cluster of three prominent majors, namely new energy intelligent manufacturing, new energy materials, and advanced services related to new energy, so as to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents for the cause of the construction of the New Energy Capital.
