On November 2nd, Lecture Hall 3201 of Zhixing Building was fully occupied. The Party Branch of the Basic Education Department and the Physical Education Department held the third lecture of the General Education Series. It was entitled "Introduction to Regular Script Structure" given by Wang Chunfang, a famous calligraphy teacher in Changzhou who is famous for his "Simulation Coordinate Approach to Regular Script Structure".
He elegant, amiable, hale and hearty look bridged the generation gap. Without information technology, relying solely on a green board and a stick of chalk, Teacher Wang vividly explained calligraphy techniques and concepts, and demonstrated the four major regular script styles of Ou, Yan, Liu, and Zhao, inspiring young college students to write Chinese characters well and behave themselves. Nearly 20 students participated in the interaction and truly experienced that calligraphy is not only an art form, but also a way of cultivating oneself and character.
This lecture not only helped the audience to understand the basic knowledge and skills of calligraphy, but more importantly, it deepened their love for the excellent traditional Chinese culture.
