Candice Zhang, born in Liaoning in August 1980, is a master of interpreting and translating (MIT) graduating from Nanjing University and is studying in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) for the doctor degree of Philosophy. She is an associate professor and an examiner for the Cambridge Business English (BEC) oral exam and the Cambridge English (KET/PET) oral exam. In 2007, she was sent to Niagara College in Canada to study hospitality industry management. From 2015 to 2016, as a visiting scholar of the University of Washington in Seattle, USA, she worked at CTL for one year. Since June 2021, she has served as the Vice Dean of the School of Digital Business.
So far she has spent over 20 fulfilling and rewarding years in CIIT. Part of the honors and awards she won are as follow: First Prize in Teaching Plan Design Competition, First Prize in Jiangsu Provincial Teaching Ability Competition, First Prize in the 5th Jiangsu Provincial Excellent Vocational Education Thesis, Third Prize in the 15th Changzhou Philosophy and Social Science Excellent Achievement Award, Silver Award in the Changzhou Municipal Micro Video Competition, First Prize in the College Curriculum Ideological and Political Teaching Competition, First Prize in the College Young English Teacher Teaching Competition, Outstanding young key teachers of the Qinglan Project in Jiangsu universities, a woman pacesetter in Changzhou City, being responsible for the Famous Class Teacher Studio and the Women Pacesetters Studio of the college.
She compiled two national planning textbooks for vocational education during the 13th Five Year Plan period and published several Chinese and English papers in international journals, and is leading the construction of two online courses.
She's a versatile person. However, she seems to be keener to stand on the podium, where she displays her breathtaking charm and extraordinary energy. She speaks English fluently and accurately in euphonius voice, and her lively and interesting classes invariably appeal to international students from various cultural backgrounds. Attending her class is a blessing.
